I am currently offering session in-person and virtually, based on your comfort level.

FEE/INSURANCE

Individual Session (50mins): 200

Couple/Partnership Session (50mins): 210

I currently do not take insurance and operate based on a sliding scale model. This means that I take into account client need, circumstance, and my own availability when determining your fee. I do hold lower fee spots for those that identify within the BIPOC/trans/gender-nonconforming communities. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions around this. I am also able to provide a “superbill” for clients who are looking for reimbursement from their insurance companies.

Notification of Good Faith Estimate:

Effective January 1, 2022, a federal ruling went into effect called the “No Surprises Act,” which requires mental health practitioners to provide a “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE) of costs to any patient who is uninsured or who is insured but does not plan to use their insurance benefits to pay for specific health care services.  We are also required to notify you of your right to a GFE in session (verbally) and to attempt to answer any questions you may have. Each client’s  GFE is included in their intake packet .

While the law may be intended to protect consumers from surprise medical bills, much of the law also appears irrelevant and redundant for private practice psychotherapists and clients;  Our licensing boards and professional ethics already require that we communicate our cost of service per session to every client. We also bill per session at the time of service.  Thus, it is exceedingly rare for a private practice psychotherapy patient to receive a surprise bill.

Our standard fee for a 50-minute session is $180. Miranda Young Therapy provides reduced fee therapy to a portion of their caseload based on need and availability.  If you receive a reduced fee, your therapist will work this out with you, in advance, and your fee per session will be included in your GFE.

Your treatment and cost of treatment will vary based on your individual mental health, the amount of therapy sessions needed/wanted, and the type and length of services you attend.  You have a right to initiate a dispute resolution process if the actual amount charged to you substantially exceeds the estimated charges stated in your Good Faith Estimate (which means $400 or more beyond the estimated charges).

The Good Faith Estimate is not intended to serve as a recommendation for treatment or prediction to attend a specific number of psychotherapy visits.  Therapy is and will always be voluntary and tailored to fit your needs.
